Groveley’s manufactured component inspection time is now quicker and even more accurate following investment in an Aberlink coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
Less labour-intensive than our original manual CMM, its greater accuracy and reporting helps maintain our delivery track record of 100% right first time – but faster because of fewer bottlenecks at inspection. It allows our inspection team to keep pace with the increased throughput of our fully-automated manufacturing capabilities.
The new unit is currently measuring ATEX components where QA demands that the physical dimensions of each manufactured component are precisely measured.
In any batch, the first component is measured manually on the CMM, thereafter each measurement is taken automatically. In-depth inspection reports and documentation are produced to confirm accuracy to specification and help with our traceability records.
