Groveley proudly announces that its Anchor Works site had retained its ATEX flameproof certification for the 25th year, following an audit to the Directive 2014/34/EU regulations for manufacturers of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
To pass the audit we had to prove that anything we manufacture for such an environment meets essential quality requirements, and that we undergo appropriate conformity procedures for the equipment, so as to be marked with the ‘Ex’ symbol.
This process has been assisted by our recent investment in an Aberlink coordinate measuring machine (CMM) because – when measuring ATEX components – QA demands that the physical dimensions of each manufactured component are precisely measured.
Certification ensures that the equipment manufactured does not cause an explosion and that adequate information is supplied to ensure that it can be used safely.
