Groveley’s four team leaders have completed an internal leadership development programme, geared to producing transformational benefits to staff and the company. By understanding the opportunities and issues around their leadership capabilities, the learning will help them develop their already high-performing teams.
The programme was delivered in conjunction with manufacturing business support provider SWMAS and people development consultancy Exelin.
Adam Smith said: “I have been a team leader for a few years, but since being on the course I realise how much of the role I wasn’t implementing well. My communication has improved and work interruptions have greatly reduced due to the business improvements we are creating.
“Projects involved improving machine maintenance, setting up a training plan to increase machinery cover and improving the QA storage of gauges and tools.
“With the projects in place, the company and its customers will benefit by reduced machine downtime – which also helps us retain and improve our newly-accredited AS9100 award.”
